Well it’s been couple months since the event happened, but didn’t get much time to put it to words. It was Marathi people convention involving people from all over USA and India. For past couple years the prep work was going on for this event and finally all our sweat equity was worth while. The event was Great , really well appreciated and done…
Some personal highlights would be:-
Got the opportunity of becoming Master of ceremony on the main stage for the first day of the event (capacity 3000 audience) for entire afternoon session and on the mini theater for next two days (capacity 1200 audience) afternoon sessions & morning. It was nice
experience and feedback received was very encouraging and got many
compliments actually from experts in this field too… Well have given
speech for people but not something this real time and among all odds major being very dim lighting for podium for reading. Had done plenty stage things when was vice president and otherwise ( antakshri hosting vaibhav ekbote will rem that well, vadyavrunda mc and things , shwass movie.. list of things done when was on committee and introduced many new concepts ) It’s prior experiences (given i had my own business & stage ability school college times , otherwise etc ) which
makes U able to handle such situations swiftly when very small or no
help is available, but one person really came through during this
!!!!!!! thnx….
Being
on the programming committee in one of lead role along with jyoti tai and sucheta & had kind of nice things from them too. There were plenty others and interactions with them taught each time new thing. Also headed the Talent
transfer ekankika competition event from our side for which went all the
way to Chicago to encourage participants & getting them to convention and met many well known people like , Dr. mohan agashe, alankar joshi, pallavi ranade. The journey for the competitions
was something new too, working with people who have accomplished so
much in their lives and weekly concalls with them for a year, so much
learning opportunity. Even being person without that aura was never made
to feel
that way. (in the past did do vice presidency of Marathi mandal and
editorship of magazines for two year….) The hospitality at
Chicago mandal was awesome and two lines on stage were received very well. The encouragement from dignitaries was real thing and thanks to ashish chaughule and others for that.
Well
to add to it also got chance to perform in drama in opening ceremony on
main stage (though two lines & they did come in at last
minute), which was added bonus. It was after long time that I performed
on stage in drama, was very active in the past & had
participated in fashion shows, drama, dances in school /college time,
was wonderful to re-live memory.
The original theme “he bandha reshamache…” I suggested didn’t make it to the convention theme but did make it to the program on the minimee. The explanation and the moral behind the theme got much appreciation. thanks
Overall re-discovered many lost aspects of my personality: - writing, performing, presenting etc. added extra including conflict management, team building, many other things..
